Wes Anderson, a transatlantic “cinéaste”

At the intersection of auteur monograph and intertextual study, this book explores Wes Anderson’s « transatlantic » Americanness through a comparative reading of French and American films whose contours can be seen throughout his filmography. This interdisciplinary study adopts a methodology that combines aesthetic, intermedial, and intercultural analysis in order to do justice to the director/writer’s highly reflexive style as developed over the course of a rich filmography that includes eleven features, a number of shorts, and commercials produced between 1996 and 2021.
