Three keys for understanding identities in conflict

What makes society? It is neither family ties nor economic relationships, but rather politico-religious connections (initiation rites, institutions, values, etc.). Analysing these connections is crucial for an understanding of identities in conflict…identities that are reasserted and claimed more than ever in the globalised capitalist economy. To better grasp the current high stakes situation of our globalised and fractured world, anthropology is all the more useful and instructive.
